You wake up, ready for one more beautiful day and there you go. You hit your little toe on the leg of the bed. You breathe in, then breathe out… as soon as you recover from the pain, you go brush your teeth, but you’re out of toothpaste.
You go outside. It’s raining. “Oh, great”, you think, “I have my umbrella on me”, but it won’t open. You have left home early, but traffic just won’t let you get to work on time, so you start your workday getting yelled at by the big boss. Yeah…you know what I’m talking about, right?
We all have days when nothing seems right, when we’re just out of luck. But then, out of the blue, someone smiles at you, or gives you a little gift, like a candy, or you see something funny on YouTube and all of a sudden there’s a big turn on your so far disastrous day. You look out the window and the sun is out again.
In a weird way, I think that having those difficult moments is important for us to realize how good we have it most of the time, and be thankful. So, next time you start your day badly, just stop for a second, give thanks for all the great things you have in your life, put a smile on your face, then go. You’ll notice the difference in no time!
